brief recap of the last week...

Posted by susieq in , , , ,

It's Sunday. June 19th. Happy Father's Day!!! I do feel kinda bad that it's been two weeks since I posted, but I'm doing it today!!! I don't really remember too much about the week before last, so I'm gonna just do a recap of this last week.

Sunday night - Kevin came down to celebrate his birthday (yes, it was a month late. Poor guy) and go to Riverbend with Dad. We had a delicious chocolate cake and everything!!!!

Monday night - we had a swim meet. we lost. :)

Tuesday night - We went to Riverbend and saw Casting Crowns!!! They were AMAZING!!! We went with a friend and picked another one up somewhere along the way. :) Kevin came down again with a friend and sat with us.

Wednesday - Kevin stayed overnight and on Wednesday he beat us at Scrabble. :P He went back to Riverbend that night and then went home. Mary and Sarah went to a movie with a friend.

Thursday night - We had another swim meet...and lost again.

Friday - I played Ultimate frisbee and got my nose busted.

Saturday - we celebrated Peter's birthday!!! Sarah will be in Uganda on his actual birthday, so we celebrated early. He got clothes, a book, a magazine subscription, a "hydro calculator" (it runs on water batteries?), and Lord of the Rings Risk...which is what I think will become our "Sunday" - playing Risk all day long. :)

Sunday - Actually, today we have secret Father's Day plans. But after them, maybe some Risk will be in order...

Sorry I haven't posted in so long. :) I really was going to a few days ago (after Riverbend), but then I tried (to no avail) to fix the date, and that used up all my post-writing time and energy. I'll try to do better. Really. Happy Father's Day!!! Have a great week!!!!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas...

It's snowing!!!! And for the first time since I can remember, Chattanooga will have a White Christmas!!! And Kevin's home!!!! And we're having yummy, yummy food today!!! I'm excited!!! I'll try to take and post pictures later. Right now I'm going to go make pancakes. :) Merry Christmas!!!

Last weekend...and this past one

So, last week I posted about the Rocky Top Regatta and today I am providing pictures. (The ones I have, anyway.)

The first picture is my boat. :) well, actually, one of them was in a different boat, but that doesn't matter. In case you can't tell, I'm the one on the end with the sling. Since we got second, we got little silver medals, and that's what's in the second picture, along with my jersey. Now to the good stuff. On Sunday, October 10th, 2010, Stephen Francis Zeglen married Emilie Sue Heine at Valley Community Church in Great Falls, MT. They are now on their honeymoon. More complete details will follow, both here and on Mary and Sarah's blog. Until then, a picture is worth a thousand words, so here they are. :)

Steve was crying in the second pic...he was so happy. :) The cute little blond kid in the third to last pic was the ringbearer. He was adorable. The next picture is the arch they were married under. The last pic is his car...his air force buddies did that. :) I have more pictures, and will probably post them later but for right now this is it.

Pictures!!!

True to form, Mary refused to be in any and all pictures, but she took some really good ones. :)

Quick post

We're back!!! We got home about an hour and a half ago, and I just showered and finished un-packing. Pictures will (hopefully) be coming soon!!! We took a lot of pictures on the beach, and I will be sure to post some of the them...sometime. :) I don't know how many pictures we have of us with Kevin, but I'll look for some. Right now I'm just glad to be home.

Graduation!

Posted by susieq in ,

Kevin graduated from UTK (the University of Tennessee at Knoxville) yesterday!! He was excited. We had to leave our house at 5:30 in order to get there on time, which meant we were all waking up sometime before 5 so that we could shower and eat some breakfast. We had a to hour drive ahead of us, and we knew graduation would last at least to hours. It lasted 3. So, we went about 7 hours with no food. Plus, the only food we'd had was cereal (you don't really feel like making anything else at 4:45 A.M.). Anyway, the actual graduation was 3 hours long, but we got there an hour and a half early so that we could actually get seats. Then we had to wait another hour before we actually got to the resteraunt and got our food. Al Gore gave the commencement speech. It was interesting. He talks in a very convincing way...like some other politicians we know. No wonder he became VP and co-won a Nobel Peace Prize. After his 30 minute speech, every single graduate had to have their name read out and then walk the stage. There were over 1,000 graduates. It took a LONG time. But afterwards we got to eat some delicious food and then we caravaned home...and took naps. After dragging ourselves out of bed, we just kinda hung out the rest of the night. We did puzzles and drank lots of cold water (did I mention we had to eat outside...in the 90 heat). It was exciting, to say the least.
