Spring ahead, do math

Today is Pi day!!!! YAY!!! I think we should eat something special in honor of the day. Celebrations are all about food, right? I might do some math, too. (even though it's Sunday.) I think someone (hint, hint) should make a pie in a certain pi plate, devour it, and then post pictures on her blog depicting the whole event. :) Don't forget to set your clocks ahead!! :)

well, I dont know, but we have an apple pi (e) in the oven right now

Agh! I want an apple pie. We neglected to get cooking apples yesterday :-(. We may have to celebrate a day late, after we get apples tomorrow.

Are baking apples different than regular apples?

Eh, sort of. Tarter apples (like granny smith) are recommended for cooking, though I've used sweeter ones and they're just fine. But really, I think we were running low on apples in general. Hans eats an apple a day, so we go through them quickly.
