Alas! I was the only person who remembered to bring a camera...and I forgot to check my batteries which died soon after we arrived. This is the only picture (in our possession) of the entire wedding! :( But, this one's pretty good. :) The music was for the most part all celtic, the groomsmen (and groom, and father of the bride) wore kilts, and they cut the cake with a sword. Both the bride and groom were deeply involved with fencing, and they had an honor guard (the bride's brothers and other fencing students) salute them as they left. It was a beautiful spring day, and it was a lovely wedding and reception. They had regular reception food, (cheese and crackers, rolls, chicken salad, etc) and delicious punch. They also had CANDY!! Tons and tons of CANDY. I think everyone should have candy at their wedding. :) It makes the little kids less restless. They also had serving cakes, so that guests could eat cake without having to wait for the bride and groom to cut it. It was exquisite!

Okay, okay, thank you for posting one picture. . . sure wish your batteries had lasted longer :-/. Very cool picture, though. Pretty harp and bagpipes.
I had to laugh about the candy making the kids less restless. I assume that would be a temporary effect, until they all reached a sugar high? ;-). Hehe. Regardless, candy is a good idea, so the kids feel like there is something "for them." I think a lot of kids feel really out of place at weddings.

My new favorite quote :)
"Most people, if they have really learned to look into their own hearts, would know that they do want, and want acutely, something that cannot be had in this world. There are all sorts of things in this world that offer to give it to you, but they never quite keep their promise."
